Ravioli Perfection

Maya helping with dinner

She loved playing with the spatula and being with Mom and Dad in the kitchen

Happy Girl!

Later she cuddled with me on my chest. She hasn't done that for so long it made me miss the newborn days.

Here is the end result. DJ and I were so excited to eat that we dug into it and then I was like "Oh crap I forgot to take a picture...now its not going to look pretty!" ~ oh well you get the gist of it right? Knowing how it taste just looking at this picture make my mouth water!

Last week DJ and I decided it would be fun to make a new recipe from scratch on our Family day on Sundays. He and I have always dreamed of owning our own restaurant so we thought we might as well get started on the menu. Each week we are going to make a recipe from scratch, eat it, then I will share with you whether or not its worth the time to make it and give you the recipe.

This week we tackled Mushroom Ravioli. DJ had this dish at Maggiano's an Italian restaurant here in Seattle and he fell in love with it! So I found the recipe online and we made and amazing meal. We started by making our own pasta dough and then made the insides to the ravioli and the cream sauce that goes over it all. DJ did a lot of the work since I was feeling a little under the weather. It was by far one of the best meals we have ever made together. Both of us were so happy with the outcome. If you have time to try and make this dish I totally recommend it!

Round 2

Maya with her pink balloon at Red Robin last night ~ check out Maya's hair its really coming in but right now it somewhat resembles a toupee

Maya and Daddy at dinner

We went out to dinner last night and then did our grocery shopping for the week. Maya was good too even though it was way past her bedtime!

Surprise Round 2....second set of flowers and another sweet card!

My first set of flowers wilted soon after I got them so DJ took it upon himself to get me another set and another card. I know this blog is to brag about Maya but I have to brag about how wonderful DJ has been. Last night he even ran to Nordstrom to get me some new work pants! What a man! He also picked Maya up a new fleece for the winter to keep her warm. He takes such good care of his ladies. Love you baby!

What a HAM!!!!

This is from yesterday as well but I thought I would post it separate since my re-cap of yesterday is pretty lengthy! Every time we take out the camera Maya smiles and not just any smile the smile that makes her eyes disappear (kind of like her Daddy). I got some video of it so you can all see what we see! Oh it cracks me up! What 8 month old knows how to pose for the camera?

Fam-day Fun-day Sunday

Maya at breakfast

Maya and DJ looking at the Falls

There was a skunk hat at the Falls gift shop so we put it on Maya and took some pics. We always call her stinky so it was kind of fitting!

Mohawk time!

She loves her baths!

My Surprise...isn't it beautiful!

If I could go back and do yesterday all over again I would in a heart beat! We had a great family day together. We woke up and started our day with breakfast with Stac, Jamie and Mom. Maya entertained us all at breakfast! DJ and I then took Maya up to Snoqualmie Falls. It was such a nice day yesterday and the falls was roaring! It was a little misty but we managed to get a few good pictures. We were also a little worried that Maya would get upset because of the water that was getting in her face but she loved it! On our way home from the falls we stopped at a little candy store in Issaquah that I used to go to when I was a little girl. DJ and I bought fudge and chocolate sauce for sundaes later. We then headed home and caught the last half of the very depressing Hawks game. While watching the game we played with Maya a ton and worked on her crawling. She doesn't quite have it down yet but she is trying. We then read Maya a book, gave her a bath and put her to sleep. I went off into our room to do some homework while DJ made a wonderful dinner. His roast was one of the best meals he has ever made...it was so flavorful! Then all of a sudden he needed to run an "errand", when he came back he told me to not come out of the room for at least 10 minutes. I came out of our room and there was a dozen red roses, the movie P.S. I love you, a season of Sex and the City, and a sweet card that said "Thank you for the wonderful weekend, and here is to many more to come. Love DJ" ~ What a perfect ending to a perfect weekend! I love him so much and I am so thankful to have such a wonderful man to spend the rest of my life with! We have now officially declared every Sunday Family day and we are going to focus solely on spending time together, loving each other and making each other happy. Cant wait for next Sunday!! :)
P.S. I love you! (both)

The kids ~ look at Maya in the highchair....she's such a big girl!

Preston came over and spent the night on Friday. Me, Pres and Maya went out on a date to Red Robin. DJ had to work late so I took both kids. They were both perfect angels!!!! We then went home and watched a "show" then Pres and Maya slept in her room together. We all had so much fun spending time together. I love that Pres, Maya and Naomi will all grow up together and be so close!

Baby Battle

This is the picture I entered. DJ wanted me to enter the one of her from the Lavender Festival but I think this one is better cause she is really smiling :)

Happy Friday Everyone! So I decided to enter Maya into a Baby Contest. Kube 93.3 is having a cutest baby battle and I think Maya could take 1st prize! :) If she wins she will get $1500 and we'll put it into an account for her future (college, car, house, whatever..). The voting starts November 17th so go on and vote for our little girl. Even if she doesn't win, its still fun to show her off in her little Seattle Seahawks Cheerleading outfit for all of Seattle to see. We are proud of our city! So log on after the 17th and vote, you can get to the page through this link:

Mama and Maya

These pictures are a little old but I never posted them and I really should have! Also, I cant find my charger for the battery to my camera and I have really wanted to post something, anything! So here are a few pictures of me and Maya from this summer. I love her so much and for some reason I am missing her more than usual today! :(
