Lake Patterson

This last weekend I took Maya down to Lake Patterson with Stac, Dan and Kathy. It was so nice just to get away and relax with some of my favorite people! We all took Maya out on the party barge in her little Bumbo chair and went fishing. It was her first boating experience and she loved it! All of us had a lot of fun just chatting, drinking wine and relaxing. Thank you for the wonderful weekend! We love you Auntie Stacie, Grandma Kath and Grandpa Dan!

Bawa bought the girls Pink Bunnies filled with Lavender, it worked like a charm on Maya! :)

This last weekend I took Maya over to the Lavender festival with Bawa, Taya and Nay Nay. For those of you who don't know what the Lavender Festival is you are missing out! It is located in the "Sun Belt" of Washington, which is why the Lavender grows so beautifully out there. It is always fun and this year it was especially fun because it was Maya's first experience. We stayed at a cute little house in Port Townsend. The house was built in the early 1900's. Located in "Uptown" Port Townsend it was close to the Saturday Market and restaurants and also had an amazing view of the water. I would have taken more pictures but my camera died the first day we were there! :( But I did catch a little of the essence of the Lavender Festival.

The festival takes place over a 3 day span. There are about 10 or so different fields that you can go to and also a street fair located in downtown Sequim. We only went to about half of the fields (only the good ones) but went to the street fair every day. At each of the fields there are different foods drinks and craft vendors and EVERYTHING is Lavender!!! It is a wonderfully relaxing weekend! It was really hard to leave that way of life over there it is so calm and peaceful, it makes you not want to come back to the hustle and bustle of reality.

Sweet Potatoes for the Sweet Baby

Maya had Sweet Potatoes for the first time today. At first she was a little unsure as to what we were giving her but once she got going she didn't want to stop. We cant wait to try different foods and see her reaction. So far she loves Sweet Potatoes!

Maya is 4 Months Old!!!!!

Maya checking to see how much she's grown!
Bawa and Maya ( I caught Bawa mid smile~sorry Bawa)
Tipping the scale at 17lbs 11oz ~ I cropped the pic for Maya's privacy :)

Maya had her 4 month check up today! She is off the charts in height, weight and head circumference. She weighs 17 lbs 11 oz and is 26 1/4 inches long. The doctor said she is super healthy and she is hitting all of her milestones. She also said we can start giving her solid food! YEAH! She recommended a good book for us its called Super Baby Food. It works as a guide so we can make Maya her own baby food instead of giving her store bought stuff. Anyways, we'll give it a shot! :)
Thank you to Bawa who picked up Miss Maya and met me at the doctors office! We love you so much and Maya couldn't have a better grandma than you!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST! And thank you to Stacie and Britt for coming over after her appointment and loving her and watching her so that I could go back to work and finish my day. We love you both too!

Water Babies

Checking eachother out
BFF's
Romy splashing around
Our Water Babies

Today Joss and I went and took our girls to her pool. Romy, Jossie's little girl, throughly enjoyed herself while Maya was a little skeptic. Still it was fun getting them into their cute swimsuits and watching them interact, plus it was a nice cool down for all of us. After our fun in the sun we took the girls back and while they napped we had Mommy time. It was a fabulous day!

Fireworks

The Lake Washington Fireworks

Our Fireworks

DJ patiently waiting for Colby so that they can go blow stuff up together

All of our plans on the 4th fell through so DJ and I ended up making a nice dinner at home. We put Maya down for bed and sat out on our porch, had a few cocktails and watched the fireworks over Lake Washington. We were surprised at what a awesome show we had right from the comfort of our own home. After his family got done with the BBQ that they were at Uncle Beep Beep took Colby down to the park to have a fireworks show of their own. All and all I would have to say it was one of the best 4th's that I have had!

A full fun week with DJ's family

Brother and Sister
Chillin watching Wrestling
The Cousins
Auntie and Maya
On the tour

The fish guy

DJ's family came into town from Oklahoma. His sister, her husband and their two children stayed with us for a little over a week. We had so much fun together. We showed them around Seattle, went on the underground tour, pike place, etc. We went and had dinner with DJ's and Shonna's Dad and Grandparents a few times, but mostly we just hung out at our place and chatted, laughed and caught up on everyones lives. It was also the first time that they had the opportunity to meet Maya. Maya adored her Auntie, Uncle and Cousins. It was so good having them in town, it had been about a year since DJ had seen his sister and a few years since he had seen his niece and nephew. We hope so see them all a lot sooner next time around.
