Spoiled Rotten
Maya loves to chew on anything and everything. This was from Paula and Ron, it is a night light for her bedroom
ABC Drum from Daddy
Chillin in her new highchair from Daddy. I thought he did pretty good picking this one out!
This year was Maya's first taste of presents and I think she's hooked. She loved the wrapping paper and making a mess. DJ and I got a kick out of watching her do it! We all had a great day together, not only did our baby get spoiled rotten but DJ made an awesome turkey dinner and to top it all off it snowed all day long!!! What an awesome day of giving and family!

Christmas Eve with DJ's family
Getting spoiled by the family...she wasnt quite sure how to open up the presents so Daddy helped her
Apparently she was very happy with what she got :)
Apparently she was very happy with what she got :)
On Christmas Eve we went over to DJ's Aunt Claudia's house and had a great time with the family. Many of them hadn't seen Maya since she was about a month old so it was great for her and them to spend some time together. All of DJ's cousins loved holding her and playing with her and Maya got a kick out of them too. She was also spoiled rotten by the fam and all the gifts they gave her. We all had a wonderful time being together!

Me and My Boo
Maya's 9 month appointment
23 pounds of the cutest baby you have ever seen! ha!
Her nose is still a little snotty from the cold she had last week

Sitting like a big girl!
Maya turned 9 months old on Sunday so we took her appointment yesterday afternoon. DJ had to work so my Mom helped me by picking Maya up and I met them at the doctor's office. Maya is 23 pounds and a little over 30 inches long. She is off the charts in weight, height and head circumference. She is the size of a 12 months old! :) She also had a nasty ear infection last week that has cleared up beautifully! She met all of her milestones plus some. She says Mama, Dada, Hi, Bye, No and Baba. She also will randomly say other stuff but those are the main words she is using right now. Her favorite game is peek-a-boo and she loves to clap for anything and everything and wave Bye Bye. She also is pointing which I guess is advanced for her age. Mrs. Paula has taught them to point instead of grab at things so Paula can be thanked for that! She had a few shots but calmed down once we gave her a bottle and held her for a little bit. All and all it was a good appointment. I cant a believe how fast my little girl is growing! It makes me sad. I want her to stay little forever!
Let it snow Let it snow Let it SNOW!!!!!

Our street ~ Isnt it beautiful!
One of the many pictures that didnt turn out that well...oh well you get the idea!
Washington has been getting hit hard lately with some crazy winter weather. This last weekend its snowed which was technically Maya's second snow because it snowed in May last year when she was a few months old. Anyways, Saturday night we went for a drive and got some dinner but first I tried to take a few pics in the snow with Maya but it didn't really work out. We are supposed to get more tonight and over the weekend so it should be fun! I love the snow so much I could just sit for hours watching it snow! Its so peaceful and quiet! :) (plus I still get giddy watching the school closures wishing I was back in grade school when they announce a snow day...wasn't that the best!)

Ravioli Perfection
She loved playing with the spatula and being with Mom and Dad in the kitchen
Happy Girl!
Later she cuddled with me on my chest. She hasn't done that for so long it made me miss the newborn days.
Here is the end result. DJ and I were so excited to eat that we dug into it and then I was like "Oh crap I forgot to take a picture...now its not going to look pretty!" ~ oh well you get the gist of it right? Knowing how it taste just looking at this picture make my mouth water!
Last week DJ and I decided it would be fun to make a new recipe from scratch on our Family day on Sundays. He and I have always dreamed of owning our own restaurant so we thought we might as well get started on the menu. Each week we are going to make a recipe from scratch, eat it, then I will share with you whether or not its worth the time to make it and give you the recipe.
This week we tackled Mushroom Ravioli. DJ had this dish at Maggiano's an Italian restaurant here in Seattle and he fell in love with it! So I found the recipe online and we made and amazing meal. We started by making our own pasta dough and then made the insides to the ravioli and the cream sauce that goes over it all. DJ did a lot of the work since I was feeling a little under the weather. It was by far one of the best meals we have ever made together. Both of us were so happy with the outcome. If you have time to try and make this dish I totally recommend it!

Round 2
Maya with her pink balloon at Red Robin last night ~ check out Maya's hair its really coming in but right now it somewhat resembles a toupee
Maya and Daddy at dinner
We went out to dinner last night and then did our grocery shopping for the week. Maya was good too even though it was way past her bedtime!
Surprise Round 2....second set of flowers and another sweet card!
My first set of flowers wilted soon after I got them so DJ took it upon himself to get me another set and another card. I know this blog is to brag about Maya but I have to brag about how wonderful DJ has been. Last night he even ran to Nordstrom to get me some new work pants! What a man! He also picked Maya up a new fleece for the winter to keep her warm. He takes such good care of his ladies. Love you baby!

What a HAM!!!!
This is from yesterday as well but I thought I would post it separate since my re-cap of yesterday is pretty lengthy! Every time we take out the camera Maya smiles and not just any smile the smile that makes her eyes disappear (kind of like her Daddy). I got some video of it so you can all see what we see! Oh it cracks me up! What 8 month old knows how to pose for the camera?

She loves her baths!
My Surprise...isn't it beautiful!
If I could go back and do yesterday all over again I would in a heart beat! We had a great family day together. We woke up and started our day with breakfast with Stac, Jamie and Mom. Maya entertained us all at breakfast! DJ and I then took Maya up to Snoqualmie Falls. It was such a nice day yesterday and the falls was roaring! It was a little misty but we managed to get a few good pictures. We were also a little worried that Maya would get upset because of the water that was getting in her face but she loved it! On our way home from the falls we stopped at a little candy store in Issaquah that I used to go to when I was a little girl. DJ and I bought fudge and chocolate sauce for sundaes later. We then headed home and caught the last half of the very depressing Hawks game. While watching the game we played with Maya a ton and worked on her crawling. She doesn't quite have it down yet but she is trying. We then read Maya a book, gave her a bath and put her to sleep. I went off into our room to do some homework while DJ made a wonderful dinner. His roast was one of the best meals he has ever made...it was so flavorful! Then all of a sudden he needed to run an "errand", when he came back he told me to not come out of the room for at least 10 minutes. I came out of our room and there was a dozen red roses, the movie P.S. I love you, a season of Sex and the City, and a sweet card that said "Thank you for the wonderful weekend, and here is to many more to come. Love DJ" ~ What a perfect ending to a perfect weekend! I love him so much and I am so thankful to have such a wonderful man to spend the rest of my life with! We have now officially declared every Sunday Family day and we are going to focus solely on spending time together, loving each other and making each other happy. Cant wait for next Sunday!! :)
P.S. I love you! (both)
